Professor Leonie Heilbronn

Professor Leonie Heilbronn is from the Adelaide Medical School at the University of Adelaide where she leads the Obesity and Metabolism Lab within the Lifelong Health Theme at SAHMRI. Her research focuses on understanding the impacts of nutritional modulation on insulin resistance, obesity and metabolism to reduce the risk of chronic diseases and she has contributed extensively to current concepts of caloric restriction (CR), intermittent fasting (IF) and time restricted eating (TRE) in humans. Heilbronn’s research works include more than 140 published peer-reviewed manuscripts with >14,000 citations. She is the current President of the Australia and New Zealand Obesity Society (ANZOS), and an Associate Editor of Obesity and the European Journal of Endocrinology.
